Henry William Hoskyns was the 1958 World Champion in Epee,
and won a record aggregate of 9 golds in Commonweath Games.
He was the last British fencer to make the podium at an
Olympic competition, taking silver in the mens team epee at the 1960
Rome Olympics and silver in the mens individual at the1964 Tokyo Olympics.
He represented GB at all six Olympics spanning two decades,
from Melbourne (1956) to Montreal (1976), usually representing GB in
more than one weapon, and on two occasions (Melbourne and Tokyo) representing
GB in all three weapons – Epee, Foil and Sabre.
